the question is often asked "what's your favorite movie?" or "what are your top five movies?"  etc....   how do you define that?

for me, my favorite movies are those which i can watch anytime, anyplace, and under any circumstance.  there aren't that many for me, but i do have some.  here they are, in no particular order:

you've got mail - i mean, come one.... new york, tom hanks, meg ryan, parker posey, greg kinnear.  nora ephron knows how to make movies.

sneakers - i'm a nerd, i know.

willy wonka & the chocolate factory - gene wilder...  genious.

back to the future I

the devil wears prada - this one hasn't been time-tested, but i feel it might make it.  new york...  and we're big into fashion right now.

pretty much anything by woody allen.

so, there you have it.  not an exhaustive list.  i'm sure i'll think of more.

yours?

devil wears prada

the holiday - however, i tend to only watch this around Christmas and new year's eve

notting hill - i'm sure you forgot about this one

clueless

mary poppins - this works out well considering roscoe wants to watch it daily

serendipity

i could probably go on and on really, but these really do it for me.

Re: on the subject of movies...

C'mon!, dont base your love of a movie on the fact that it is set in NY.
need to branch out a bit. Dont get me wrong....I like some of these too, I just like them for the different reasons.

I have developed this love of ALL movies. I try to find the greatness in all of them.
Yes, I do have my favorites, but there are far TOO many to start listing here.

in the meantime, check out catchaflick.blogspot.com
